Orel Moore Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Business

SWEET HOME, OR, September 20, 2021– Orel Moore has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After graduating from Myrtle Creek High School in 1960, Mr. Moore began his career in a saw mill. Unfortunately, an accident left him unable to work in such physically strenuous jobs, so he decided to try buy, remodel and sell trailer homes. Thereafter, Mr. Moore gained valuable expertise in the field as the owner of Heirloom Gold Nugget Company and General Home Security Company.

People had a great need for securing their homes, so he developed a security package installing deadbolts, door viewers, window locks and his package came with warning decals. Then, while staying in a motel with his wife, without warning, a housekeeper walked into their room without announcing herself. He became dedicated to finding a method of making hotel and motel doors more secure and with the help of his wife Melinda did just that. During this time, Mr. Moore discovered that lock picks, pick guns, and bump keys were sold online and can open a locked door nearly as fast as a working key and the websites show you how to do it. Learning this, in the late 1990s, he established Super Grip Lock LLC, with the help of his wife he patented the Super Grip Lock. As owner, Mr. Moore supervises every aspect of the business, including coordinating with his supplier in China to manufacture the product as well as marketing matters.

Due to his outstanding expertise, Mr. Moore’s product, the Security Travel Strap, which is used for key-in-knob locks or lever locks, was featured in The National Locksmith Magazine during his years as owner of General Home Security Company. Additionally, he was recognized in Police Chief Magazine. For his outstanding body of work, Mr. Moore has also been honored with the First Place Security Award from the Invention Convention in 1996 and was recognized among the 10 Most Marketable Products of the Year for the Super Grip Lock by the Electronic Retailers Association.

Although his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Moore is incredibly proud of his wife Melinda for helping him with designing and patenting the Super Grip Lock. Looking toward the future, he aims to find someone who can take over his business as he approaches his eighth decade on Earth. Moreover, Mr. Moore hopes to spend more time with his wife who traveled with him across America for four years. He marketed their product to lock shops, hardware store, super markets, novelty shops and drugstores. She was the navigator telling him where to go and how to get there and having an adventure they remember with joy.
